Icon selection
We asked our designer to select icons for the following items:
- Menu with a list of services
- Download
- Play
- Settings
- Edit
- Site map
- Search
- Brightness
The icons were selected from Fontello.
They are used by many sites and interfaces, therefore we assumed that these icons should have been familiar.
Experiment
We showed icons to 55 users. Each user was asked to write what he thought the icon designated.
What do you think this icon designates?
Results
Then we calculated the number of matches with the designer's opinion and the total number of answer versions.
